Birdstrike Knocks Out Airplane Windshield

ORLANDO, Fla. —A bird struck a plane traveling from the Bahamas to Orlando Executive Airport on Friday, leaving a large hole in the windshield. The pilot of the Piper PA-31 Navajo was treated at the scene for lacerations to his head. There were conflicting reports as to whether one or two people of six people on board were injured. The bird struck at about 1,000 feet in the air east of the airport when the plane was on its final approach. The aircraft landed safely and taxied to the ramp.
