A CC-177 Globemaster and its crew have been stuck in Scotland since last week.
The crew, based out of CFB Trenton, was on a sustainment flight when it experienced a bird strike near Prestwick, Scotland, United Kingdom, said David Lavallee Public affairs officer, 1 Canadian Air Division, in an e-mail to The Intelligencer Monday evening.
“The damage from the bird strike was severe enough to require an engine change,” he stated.
A repair team is departing Canada Tuesday and is expected to have the damaged Globemaster back up-and-running in a few days, he said.
