PHOENIX (AP) — An American Airlines plane diverted to Phoenix after a bird strike cracked a cockpit window during takeoff from Las Vegas on a flight to Charlotte, North Carolina.

Airline spokesman Matt Miller says nobody was injured and that the six crew members and 174 passengers boarded another plane in Phoenix early Thursday morning to resume their flight to Charlotte.

Miller says the aircraft with the cracked window remained in Phoenix so repairs can be made.

Phoenix is a hub for the airline.
