2022 Bird Strike Canada Conference & Workshop
You are invited to attend the 2022 Canadian Airport Wildlife Management Conference & Workshop hosted by the Bird Strike Association of Canada. This year the conference will be held at the Transport Canada headquarters in Ottawa on 19 & 20 October 2022. It will be preceded on the 18th by our annual Bird Strike Committee Canada meeting.
I am very excited about this year’s conference. It has been way too long since we have been able to see each in person and have the kind of conversations you can only have in person. We also intend to invite a couple of very interesting and informative speakers and have ideas for some very useful workshops. And we haven’t even put out a call for presentations yet!
During each annual conference Bird Strike Committee Canada (BSAC’s advisory committee) meets to discuss issues and to make plans for and set goals for the association for the year ahead. This year will be a pivitol meeting for the group with some very real and challenging issues to address. All members are welcome to attend this meeting as observers. The meeting will be held from 09:00 to 17:00 on Tuesday, 18 October 2022 at Transport Canada. Seating for this meeting will be very limited.
As always with our Canadian conferences, space is limited – this year to only about 30 participants. Therefore, register early to reserve a space. A call for papers and more information about the conference and hotel accommodations will be forthcoming. I look forward to seeing you in Ottawa in October.
