Bird strike causes emergency landing at Saskatoon

From CADORS – An Air Canada Embraer ERJ 190-100 IGW (C-FNAJ / ACA1128) from Saskatoon, SK (CYXE) to Toronto, ON (CYYZ) departed and reported to Tower that they may have hit a bird. The Runway was inspected and nothing was found. The pilot requested to return to CYXE with Winnipeg Centre, and subsequently declared a "PAN PAN".  The aircraft landed safely at 0217Z.  There was no reported operational impact.  , 2016-06-01 – UPDATE:  TSB#A16C0050: C-FNAJ, an Air Canada Embraer 190 operating as flight ACA1128, departed Saskatoon/John G. Diefenbaker Intl, SK (CYXE) for Toronto/Lester B. Pearson Intl, ON (CYYZ). On rotation from CYXE?s Runway 09, the crew observed multiple birds and a single impact was heard. During the initial climb, an acrid odour was noticed and a high ITT indication on engine number two (General Electric CF34) was triggered. The crew declared a PAN PAN and the aircraft returned to CYXE for a safe landing with ARFF on standby. Following a borescope inspection of the engine, a compressor wash, and an engine run, the aircraft was returned to service.
